Before Eldercare Resource Planning was recommended to me I was floundering to not only find a decent long term nursing facility for my father, and make sure his medical & daily needs were met but to also go through the overcomplicated Medicaid application process. 

Since my father had a brain injury he could not advocate for himself or answer many questions which made the process that much more challenging when working with the nursing home’s business office.  The nursing home’s business office had offered to help me apply for Medicaid but it became clear through this process that they did not know what they were doing, how Medicaid applications worked, or how to help me answer questions about specific issues/concerns so they decided not to submit the application assuming it would be denied.  Whether or not my father received Medicaid did not make a difference to this company or the individual office worker.  This was absolutely frightening when the greatest concern should have been my fathers day-to-day medical needs let alone worrying about where he could go and what his options were financially.

A friend-of-a-friend who is a social worker shared a website where I found Eldercare Resource Planning and I could not have been luckier to receive that recommendation when I did.  ECRP met with me over a conference call to organize and research what documents I needed to gather, and they found out what I needed to do about more complex financial concerns, real estate, and pay downs to qualify.  This information was given to me in an organized fashion with excellent follow ups and assistance all the way through the process, even following up with the nursing home when they didn’t provide proper paperwork to the county. 

ECRP saved me an unbelievable amount of time and stress with their expertise and time spent connecting the dots. I couldn’t have managed this situation on my own and would recommend them to anyone needing to go through this process.

My father has unfortunately since passed away, and I am so grateful that I was able to spend more of the time I had with him because of ECRP’s help.
